I grew up on a ball field.
My world was sports. Between me and my little brother and sister, it was a 7-day a week thing for many years. Almost ALL of my memories involve football & baseball specifically. From Pop Warner to Little League to college sports, I spent my time with athletes.
Starting at very young, I’d travel with my Pop Warner team to regional and national championships and cheer competitions. There were many nights where a pile of pre-teen boys and girls would be hanging out in a hotel pool. Lots of hand holding and stealing kisses under bleachers happened during this time in my life.
My dad also coached little league for almost my entire childhood. Want to know how many times his little baseball players came to my house? A lot. Want to know how many little pitcher boys became my boyfriend? A lot. This early attraction to athletic boys stuck with me and now I’ve grown into a full-fledged sucker.
What is it about an athlete that drives girls so crazy? I don’t think it’s just the uniform (even though I’d take a heaping handful of baseball uniform @$$ any day of the week). I think it’s a lot more than that. Athletes learn about rules, teamwork, loyalty, motivation and goals. They are dedicated, passionate and driven – and THAT is a super sexy combo! What girl in their right mind WOULDN’T want a guy with all of those characteristics? Not to mention, the smoking hot bods that often come along with the package ;)

I guess you could say the All American Boy is my type. Give me the choice between the dbag in the club buying shots for girls wearing Ed Hardy vs a guy in a sweaty tshirt playing basketball at the gym, and I’ll take the latter EVERY time.
Thinking about football season being right around the corner inspired this post. It has been my favorite time of the year for about 20 years now. The only thing that is just as fun as getting cozy with an attractive, athletic boy, is a Sunday Funday with all of your friends watching a football game.
